About Me

Paula Ann Kochanek

Paula Ann Kochanek is the founder of Speak Your Rhyme and a lifelong lover of words, rhythm, and story.

Her connection to language began early. In elementary school, she was introduced to limericks, short rhyming poems that tell a complete story in just a few lines. The structure, rhythm, and playfulness stayed with her. For years, her mind naturally rhymed thoughts and observations, long before she understood why.

Much later, she realized those rhythms were always meant to be written.

Paula is a mother of two daughters and a grandmother to three grandsons. Family, faith, and legacy shape how she views creativity and purpose. She believes everyone has a story worth telling and that written words become a gift, something meaningful left behind for those we love.

The Beginning of Speak Your Rhyme

Speak Your Rhyme was born during a season of reflection and renewal.

At the start of a new year, Paula found herself drawn to the symbolism of numbers and time. While not Jewish, she deeply respected the meaning within the Jewish calendar. In 2017, the Jewish year 5778 began, a number rich with symbolism:

  • 5 representing grace
  • 7 and 7 representing a double anointing
  • 8 representing new beginnings

As 2018 approached, the message felt personal.

After years of starting writing projects, setting them aside, and quietly believing she had missed her moment, Paula recognized something important. Time had not been wasted. It had been redeemed.

Notebooks, journals, and scraps of paper filled with limericks surrounded her. The words were already there. What was missing was the decision to begin again.

Speak Your Rhyme became that beginning.

It represents grace over perfection, progress over hesitation, and trust over fear. It is rooted in the belief that when we align our words with intention and faith, they find their proper place and reader.

Our Purpose

Speak Your Rhyme exists to honor rhythm.
The rhythm of language.
The rhythm of timing.
The rhythm of personal calling.

Through poetry, reflection, and creative expression, the platform invites people to pause, listen, and speak what has been quietly forming within them. Some words will be lighthearted. Others reflective. Some may require time to sit with.

All are welcome.

At its heart, Speak Your Rhyme is a reminder that it’s never too late to begin again, and that even the smallest lines, when written honestly, can carry life-changing truth.

Limericks are small stories with lasting truth, written for the moment you’re ready to hear them.
