January 14

There once was a lively young man who said,

“it’s time to lead and not be led.”

So he opened his mouth,

then it went south.

Now he looks east before he gets out of bed.

January 13

There once was a lonely young gal,

She was looking for a faithful pal.

Then she remembered,” open the gate,

Time to move into your fate.”

It required faith in a new locale.

January 12

There once was a man named Abram,

He wasn’t related to Sam I am.

Genesis 12 is where he was told,

“Move out from your father’s household.”

So Abram obeyed God’s program.

 

January 11

There once was a number eleven,

Who sent a message from heaven.

Three days after eight,

Move open the gate.

Your time has come for replevin. (a procedure whereby seized goods may be provisionally restored to their owner pending the outcome of an action to determine the rights of the parties concerned.)

January 10

 

It happened about the 10^th day,

That decision of work or play.

I’ll do my best!

Then I can rest.

The reward is in doing it today.

There once was a resolution,

It started a revolution.

To war I did,

Farewell I bid.

To every New Year Resolution.

There once was the number eight,

Its meaning proved to be fate.

New beginnings,

declare winnings.

Resolutions are the losers bait.

Resolution, Revolution,

Absolution, No Solution

I’ll do it!

I can’t do it!

It’s now a brazen collusion.

There once was a determined young churl,

she’d become an unsightly tight furl. (folded up)

The journey was long,

she had to be strong.

It was no use, her fate was to untwirl.

There once was a determined young girl,

who believed New Year Resolutions could whirl.

I’ll do it!

I’ll do it!

But in the end she became a churl.  (impolite, mean spirited)
